I have been doing this over the years and I don't know If it's rigth according NEC.
I'm feeding a 240v outlet with a 12/3 NM ,now I need to feed another box for an extra outlet but 120v ,I'm using the neutral wire from my old box and a hot wire from 240v feeder ,both boxes (receptacles) are protected by a
2P/20A breaker ,as the neutral load just return the unbalanced current from 120v load, this load is added to one line of 240v line ,unbalancing this this one.
But, no exceding the breaker (wire) sizing.
My question is?.Can I do this ? or it's any thing incorrect according to NEC
Thank you
