Multiple Electrical Failures

Failed Items:

1.Capacitors on capacitor start refrigeration motors-QTY 4

2.Electronic circuit boards

3.Lighting ballasts

Walk-in restaraunt meat coolers failed during the night,all the meat had to be thrown out.

FOUND

Water entering above ground outside PVC electrical boxes (6x6x4) (completely filled with water).Phase to phase and phase to ground flashovers were occurring.


QUESTION

The water has also filled the underground 1" pvc conduit(100') connected to these boxes.What is the best way to remove all this water??

Youser... what fun.

I would disconnect all power and send a compressor hose into the affected raceways. Then try to locate the reason for all of the water.

Wouldn't the AIR just blow over the top of the water in the pipe? I personally would use a shop-vac to suck the water out...

We had an issue with water in a 4 inch raceway with 500s installed, the raceway was about 800 feet.
We used the GC's truck mounted compressor. It was like "Old Faithful".
