Can anyone tell me if I am allowed to install 3 parallel runs of 36? cable tray horizontally stacked with a 12? spacing between them? Each tray will contain 6 500 mcm armored cables with the required space between the cables this installation is across the roof of an industrial plant.

i don't know if it's legal -- but i don't want to be the guy that installs the armored cable --there's no room for rigging!

I can't see why it wouldn't be legal...as long as the cables are strapped down using approved connectors on the approved cable....BUT, you must consider installation means - like rigging, feeding and pulling, where the giant reels will be situated, contingency for when the cables get jammed (and they probably will), bend radii, etc. To me, it sounds like a logistical nightmage...but I'm a fan of pipe of wire.
