For sizing of conductors the power factor is not important, you can't use the motor nameplate ampacitys you need to use the tabulated values in Part XIV of Article 430.

Take a look at 430.6.

Rob, Would you not take the (*) footnote in 430.250 into account ?
 
It appears that the * note to Table 430.250 only applys to the values given for Synchronous-Type Unity Power Factor type motors and not to Induction-Type Squirrel Cage and Wound Rotor type motors.

I think it's time for me to retire. That makes about the 5th time this week that it has been pointed out that I need to take remedial reading.
