I have a client who has one Tesla but would like to be able to park and charge it at multiple locations on his property (two stalls in a garage and one stall in a different garage). I found this 2014 code section which seems to indicate that multiple outlets are allowed on a dedicated branch circuit for charging vehicles. Am I interpreting that correctly?
210.17 Electric Vehicle Branch Circuit. An outlet(s) installed
for the purpose of charging electric vehicles shall be
supplied by a separate branch circuit. This circuit shall have
no other outlets.
There is no reason that this client cannot have three separate circuits. I'm asking this as a hypothetical in case I run across this situation again and the client has insufficient space in their panel or has a Zinsco panel. (Yes, I would try to sell them a panel upgrade but I don't want it to sink the charger circuit sale if they don't want to upgrade.)
