How much is "too" much when it comes to 3 way and 4 way switching in residential work?

Open floor plans, vaulted ceilings and multiple entries can be very labor intensive.

Where do you stop??

In my own house I only have one 4 way setup, you turn the hallway lights on or off outside every bedroom door and st the bottom of the steps

Just use pico wireless remotes with a LUTRON casita or maestro dimmers. Just need one location then good to go.
