musco field lighting trouble

240v musco lights with 2 banks of 4 lights on each pole. bottom 4 lights are all out. good voltage at fuses 240v. what would cause the whole bank of 4 lights to be off. HID 1500k lights. Two separate boxes on pole with 4 ballasts in each box....cant be 4 ballasts are bad. help....

Musco lights have a control cabinet. What's going on in there?
Are the bottom lights set up as egress lighting?

its all baseball field lighting. it runs off a timer. cabinet on pole has ballast and capacitors in it. Good voltage at breaker coming into box on pole. also good voltage to fuses which feed each individual light. the poles are 60' tall with 8 lights total. 4 on top 4 on bottom.

HI, just to make it clear I am not an electrician but we work on Musco Sports Lighting at lease once or twice every 2 weeks. If you have a warranty on the lights call Musco. If not the following might help. I am assuming that there is only one box on the pole. There could be 1 or 2 harnesses going up the pole. When looking at the capacitors is there any brown stinky stuff around them or between them? If there is they are bad. If they are clean and fuses are good it is probably the wire harness at the top of the pole. That is usually where they go bad. If you are lucky you can cut the harness connectors, that is where the issue usually is, and just wire nut the wires at the top of the pole or you and purchase a new wire harness and replace it.

Check the control panel voltage.
