Just had an issue and was unaware but Do I need to install a Myers Hub on a penetration on the side or bottom of a nema 3r panel.

I've never seen it done on the side, the bottom I've seen but don't think you have to.

312.2 Damp, Wet, or Hazardous (Classified) Locations
(A) Damp and Wet Locations In damp or wet locations, surface-type enclosures within the scope of this article shall be placed or equipped so as to prevent moisture or water from entering and accumulating within the cabinet or cutout box, and shall be mounted so there is at least 6-mm ( 1/ 4-in.) airspace between the enclosure and the wall or other supporting surface. Enclosures installed in wet locations shall be weatherproof. For enclosures in wet locations, raceways or cables entering above the level of uninsulated live parts shall use fittings listed for wet locations.

Thanks for the help guys. I took a look at 312.2 and didnt see the highlighted section of your post there

Where in the NEC does it say that an RNC (PVC) fitting is NOT approved for wet locations? I read all of Article 352 for type RNC, and have yet to find where you cannot use 2" PVC fittings, like making a 2" nipple, between a meter box and weatherproof panelboard. Damn, has the tsunami caused the inspectors to over-react? Thanks!
