And just to repeat, neither UL 1741 nor the NEC limits the OCPD to 125% of inverter output, as the inspector seemed to think.
The guy frequently made up his own rules and he had no technical oversight; his boss was a nice guy but he was not a technical head or code expert. In the meeting we had with them, we challenged the inspector to back up his decision with code or tech specs. He couldn't; he finally fell back on, "Well, I am the AHJ and I can amend the NEC however I see fit." His boss just looked at me and shrugged. Meeting over.
