NEC 700 compared to ISO?

Hi All,

This is what I use to talk to my students who are US citizens, NEC 700-16. Emergency illumination. Emergency illumination shall include all required
means of egress lighting, illuminated exit signs, ...

What do I use that is an international standard?

The closest title I can find is : ISO/CIE 8995-3:2006 Lighting of work places -- Part 3: Lighting requirements for safety and security of outdoor work places

That second phrase
outdoor work place
sounds like roadside lighting.

The other: ISO/CIE 8995-1:2002 Lighting of work places -- Part 1: Indoor

Doesn't talk about safety.

I don't want to buy the standards document if it doesn't have the definition. If someone knows they match for sure, it would save me the $50. I sure would appriciate it.

Hard.

You could go to TechStreet and do a search for fire exit signs, which brought up standards from all over the world. So whereas outside the USA the sign is standardised (ISO 6309, "the green running man"), how you use it looks like it is subject to country specific regs.

UK standards I know are relevant include:

All these standards are really expensive.
