NEC 700 question

If you are backing an entire building up on a generator with a single ATS, would that violate NEC 700, as the emergency egress lighting circuits are on the same circuit as the other NEC 702 loads?

Yes. You would need 2 transfer switches. And maybe 2 feeders from the generator depending on what type of distribution equipment you have.

Do you mean typical wall mount bug eye e lights, They self contained and fed from a lighting ckt, which is on a 702 generator in your case. If the gen or ATS fails you still have battery backup in the e lights
