Article 110.6 Conductor Sizes indicates AWG as American Wire Gage. My IEEE references as well as my online searches indicate AWG as American Wire Gauge. Reading a book referencing the NEC and AWG brought this discrepancy to my attention. So, is this a NEC typo?

typoooooo

Actually it is a variation on the spelling. Just think of hjow much ink they saved by eliminating the "u"

From Wiki

  • Gage is a variant spelling of the word gauge

How about the Smith and Wesson gauge?
:)

Would that be .40 gauge, or .45 gauge?:D Myself, I prefer .45 gauge, 220g FMJ. I can only put 7 in a clip with 1 in the pipe (if I'm in a daring mood). You don't want to have to use 2 where 1 should do.
