I don't think that there is a code section that will permit that use. 501.1 will permit the use of Class 1, Zone 0, 1 or 2 in Class 1 Division 2 areas. I don't find a rule to permit the use of "Zone" rated equipment in a Division 1 area.

No, but I did just run across a handbook commentary for 501.4(B)(3) Nonincendive Field Wiring. The comentary is "Some common telephone circuits and thermocouple circuits are also nonincendive." But this would only apply to class 1 div. 2 locations.
