Hi guys,
I'm just a homeowner but I'm hoping someone will have mercy on me and give me their expert opinion on my situation before I call for my electrical rough in inspection. I've tried searching the site but could not find the answer. I've tried asking pros and nobody seems to know for sure.

I dug out a chase to place a 3 gang light switch in a terra cotta wall (picture attached). I ran 3/4" EMT using set screw connectors to an "old work" triple gang box (the kind you join together by removing a panel). I planned on filling the void with plaster but now I'm thinking I'll run 1/4" drywall over it.

It terminates in the basement in a junction box. I know my wire count is OK, the conduit is secured well, fittings are all tight.

Concerns I've been told with inspection:

1. That box won't pass inspection. It's an old work box and this would be considered new construction
2. The 90 degree elbow has an access panel you can unscrew. Since is can be unscrewed it need to remain accessible and can't be mudded over or drywalled over

Thank you in advance for this forum and any advice you can lend me.

No, you can't bury the fitting.
