NEC or What ?

In speaking to our general foreman about a Design Build Situation he seemed a bit concerned about our 480v MCC center having two (2) Main disconnects with-in 8 feet of each other. My question would be is there an NEC requirement that holds this distance to a min./max. and where at? :confused:

Pierre : just for the record these are feeders. It took me a little longer to reply than expected but just had to ask the GF what he really meant by that statment! It turns out that the mechanical engineer wants the motor disconnects located in an area away from the actual motor incase of future replacement. We were able to do this and still comply with 430.74 and 430.102. The GF was only stating that the disconnects seem useless because they will be located within 8 feet of fused disconnects at the MCC.

Thanks for the reply anyway, I thought there was an 8 foot rule I was unaware of!!!
