Does Class 2 Division 2 Group G location require explosion proof motors and any special NEMA enclosures?

See Article 502 of the NEC.

Motors are not required to be explosion-proof, but could be used in this area. (See 502.8(B))

Box shall be dust-tight. (See 502.4(B)(4))

See 502.8(B) for the motor. In general it must be of the totally enclosed type and have a maximum full-load external temperature no higher than that listed in Table 500.8(C)(2).
