i have not used the maxis we use the greenlee u mount on the floor so as long as u have guys that know how to feed the wire not to cross them up keep them staight make a nice head or the best is to use a basket get plenty of soap 120 feet is not bad at all

Mounting the machine to the floor can be tricky. Depending on the pulling tension, I've seen guys pull the conduit right through the KO or pulling the panel or pull box right off of the wall. This will turn a 30 minute pull into a several hour repair project. When possible it's always better to mount the machine to the conduit using some type of adapter.

I have a Maxis 3000 and found that it has a lot of power and will pull the pull that you describe.

Th e only problem with large wire pulls is that the head of the puller is small and the head of the wire pull may get hung up on the puller.

I usually set the puller up upside down so the rope does not hve to go over the roller on the puller. I have it go directly to the capstan, then it doesn't get hung up.

You don't get much slack with this puller, so I would invest in some slack pulling grips so you don't have to half hitch the wire.

You don't make your own noses, I guess?

How do you mean?
I usually use the Greenlee fingers for larger wire and sometime a Kellems basket grip.
Once in a while we just strip the wire and use a couple of strands from each wire bent over the eye of the rope.

Sometimes you need more than the couple of feet that the pluller stops at, like in a large panel or switchgear.

Just like that....a few strands from each conductor through the eye of the rope...
