If he's a friend...help him. If he's an aquantance, then you decide.

BTW is father-in-law should be power slapped for letting his daughter live in a house NOT done professionally!

I personally, checked over my daughter's house before she moved in.

Same thought I had..maybe the same thought the wannabe electrician had..Dad will come to the rescue.

I redid the wiring n the down stairs of a home a couple of years ago . Father in law had started and quit when nothing worked including 2 of the bedrooms outlets upstairs. When the HO's wife tried the three way at the top of the stairs and the lights came on, she started crying, hugged me and told me that she didn't think any of this would ever get fixed. It had been like that for ten years!:-?Apparently they waited for dad to pass on so as not to hurt his feelings by hiring a professional.

Was in negotiations over re-wiring a house a few years back. The HO asked me if I did plumbing. I said "sure I do, but its going to leak!"She said maybe she should hire a qualified plumber. I told her that would be the smart thing to do.

LOL he better get some GREAT Insurance..... He needs to go ahead and hire somebody to stand by his panel and reset breakers OVER and OVER and OVER!!!! Well I understand the guy wants to save money, but DANG some people just think they know it all done it all and can learn it all !!!!!!! he probably doesnt even know too use GFCI or ARC fault breakers.... MAN SCARY SCARY !!!!!!!!

I once went to help an aquaitance that was wiring his garage with room above. He just wanted me to hook up to breakers. All wires were in panel no connectors. The funniest part was all the switchlegs went to the panel from both floors.
