I don't know if you can see the disconnects very well. They are P & S non metallic 4 x. Water spray directly at them showed lots of leaking

NEMA1 is general indoor protection. Usually steel, with no concern for waterproofing.
NEMA3R is an outdoor protection, when mounted in the proper orientation relative to gravity. Usually steel with drain holes, and built with a cover to arrange to drain away from the door.
NEMA4 is outdoor protection in any mounting orientation.
NEMA4X is similar to NEMA4, but built out of a material that cannot rust. Such as AL, stainless, fiberglass, or plastic.

How much pressure behind the spray?

You maybe needed to go beyond the 4 - 4X rating and get into IP ratings and find something suitable for high pressure spray.
 
You better quit Kwired.
The 4 on the left were only getting must and leaked.
I put a new in used one on the ground and spayed it, it leaked around the handle.
I pm you the inside of the a long time ago. Terminals were burnt

After posting I kind of recalled talking about this application before - was a car wash wasn't it?
