New Inline Breakers

Is a manufacturer making inline circuit breakers now? I have a customer who still has some of these old panels that fit inside an I-Beam column. It's a great concept if you want protect your panel from something running into it.

If no one is still making this breaker is there a good solid way to test a breaker to determine whether or not it is still good? Perhaps put it under a few different types of loads?

You can find different types from Eaton here: Quicklag (some that bolt in) or miniature breaker that mount on din rail.

You can get new column width panelboards. Honestly I would replace that thing. Wires between the bus and breaker = no go.

Those ITE breakers are now Siemens. That type would now be a BQLD Series.
Testing old breakers is a tricky subject. Technically you can, with what's called a "Current Injection Tester", but it must be done with the breaker removed and mounted. Basically though, the cost to test an old cheap breaker like these will exceed the cost of just installing a new breaker.

Funny thing is that there is a large quantity of those ITE breakers at the local ReStore, but used breakers are iffy at best.

Would you happen to know where I can get a column width panel used? I am near Greensboro NC.. There is a large used panel supply house in Burlington, NC but they do not have any.
