Does anyone know if & when New Jersey will adopt the 2005 or 2008 NEC regarding Arc-Fault Breaker requirments ?

I haven't heard anything yet. My guess is that any change will occur when they formally adopt the 2008 NEC in the Spring of 2009.

NJ has not adopted the provisions of 210.12(B) as it is written in 2005 NEC...instead, AFCI protection is "optional":

3. Chapter 2 of the electrical subcode, entitled ?Wiring and Protection,? is amended as follows:

i. (No change.) Section 210.12(B) of Article 210, entitled ?Branch Circuits,? is amended to insert the following sentence at the end of the section, ?This requirement shall be considered optional.?

The 2008 NEC has not yet been accepted.

Would anyone know where I could find the New Jersey adopted version of the 2006 IRC , looked online and the electrical section appears to have been deleted
