New service, how to prep for future solar?

In Austin and San Antonio the POCO requires permitting and inspection for adding to a PV system. Also, both POCOs require a dedicated PV meter that measures and reports PV system output irrespective of the load, so they would know if you added to the system. Beyond that, I am very much against hiding intentional rules violations even if "they would never know".
I don't really like rules.....😅
 
I don't want to give anyone cause to go after my PE license or my professional liability insurance.
Just to be clear, I and talking about my personal PV system. I have added some PV after the fact for customers a few times and did not inform the power company, but not very much, just a thousand Watts or so. Here there are mostly no permits and inspections, and the power companies care very little about residential pv, they never even come look. Come to New york! It's a lot more free than Texas!
