Is there a meg test required for new services? A customer ask i do a Meg test, work with the city to get the junction box function, termination point for the existing line. The apartment unit burnt down and a new service is going to be constructed. The POCO has already done their construction on Line Side of XFMR. The customer is asking for meg test but at this point i am not sure for what. I will get with them tomorrow but not sure if i am missing something. I hope to get more info tomorrow

There is no NEC mandated meg test.
Local amendments or perhaps rumors/superstitions could apply.
If this is a new service, what existing line are you referring to? Conductors from the meter to an existing panel maybe?
