Every time I see these threads on load calcs or have to do one--I remember an old timer waaay back when I was starting out -- heavy industrial background--

His theory was to take ALL connected load at 100% full load values add 20 to 25% and use that for sizing everything--Because he said" Gives ya a little wiggle room and plenty of extra for the future".:eek:..Miss that guy--learned a lot from him--some good some not so--lotsa little tricks--AAAAHHH if load calcs were really that easy!!:weeping:

makes sense in a large industrial plant where they will certainly add stuff along the way.

it also adds up front cost, sometimes a lot of up front cost. these days, people are pretty slow to spend a buck.
