Hey, I'm new to the electrician field and was wondering what is the most overlooked safety precaution on the job site?

Welcome.

I will list the most common things I find, as a OS&H manager:

1. Working live
2. Failed to Lock Out/Tag Out
2. Inadequate PPE
3. Defective tools (i.e. damaged cords, etc)
4. Fall protection (open sided holes/walls)

The list can go on, but that's the most common I find.

Yeah worksafe did pretty good, I would also say trench shoring and pedestrian protection.

The trench doesn't have to be very deep to kill you. In the next town over had a guy in a three foot trench, he kneeled down to do some thing when the trench collapsed and killed him.

Actually for a green worker, THAT SHOULD NEVER work live. BUt should be trained in the proper use of a TESTER and should own a TESTER.

1. Eye protection
2. Ladder safety
3. Hand protection
4. Falls

Go home everyday looking like you did when you showed up in the morning.
