New York state CSST Emergency Adoption renewed

The Codes Council met today in Albany and agenda item #5, some 40 minutes into the scheduled hearing was an emergency adoption of the rules for CSST. Until GORR (the Governor's Office of Regulatory Reform) has had a chance to approve these amendments, the council voted unanimously on a motion by John Flannigan, Code Enforcement Official, Town of Bethlehem, and a second by Commission of Health, designee, Richard Svenson, P.E. to continue the emergency adoption.

If I can remember accurately, this is the third emergency adoption while awaiting review from GORR. There will be at least 1 more round of public hearings after rule making approval from GORR. Nothing moves more slowly, it seems, than bureaucrats in the midst of a budget crisis. Many of the state Boards are on hold until the pinch is off. :smile:
