NFPA 70E Lockout Requirments

and the 2009 NFPA 70E has even more change.
I understand it will require labels indicating incident energy on equipment (if not using tables), where the 2002 version just had to have it available for reference.

Either the Ei or the PPE required needs to be on the label. This requirement was never in the previous NFPA 70E (2000 or 2004), the only previous labeling requirement (For arc flash hazards)was the one in the NEC 2002 and 2005 editions.

Sometimes I think the 70E commitee had a few of those before writing some of this stuff so maybe thats the key to understanding it all.

You are correct sir.

130.3(C) Equipment Labeling.

Equipment shall be field marked with a label containing the available incident energy or the required level of PPE.
