What code covers low voltage installations?
<p>
During a facility inspection I came across some really shoddy work and need to reference code in the report.
<p>
I did see article 720 and can only refernce 720.11 Mechanical Execution of Work.

Is there any thing else?

Thanks

Low voltage is industry jargon, but the articles that probably apply are:
725
800
810
820
720 is for a farm lighting system, typically operated at 32 V DC, low voltage yes, low current no.

Most of the violations I see in existing work of v/d/v fall under the following codes:

800.21, 800.24 (vague tho), 800.25, 800.26, 800.133 (especially 800.133 (B)), and 800.154.

Other codes also get violated, like strapping cable to sprinkler pipe (should be in NFPA 13 somewhere), as well as improper or missing firestop through rated assemblies, which is going to be in building codes.

All references from the 08 NEC.

as well as improper or missing firestop through rated assemblies,

Check out 800.26 for spread of fire or products of combustion.

This requirement also appears in other limited energy Articles in the NEC.
