Looks like AFCI protection may be coming to NJ.

Other areas of particular interest include:

- 3xx.30 ~ unsupported raceways
- 680 ~ equipotential bonding grids
- 406.8(A) & (B) ~ Weather-resistant Receptacles
- 406.11 ~ Tamper-resistant Receptacles

I think you will be just fine w/o the AFCI.

Your permits were pulled under the '05 [I'm assuming '05 and not '02]....the job will fall under the code in effect at the time the permits were issued.

BUT....
This might be an opportunity for you to upsell the job

I am starting a job in jan will this fall under 05 or 08 i bid it to 05

When you bid it is irrelevant - when you start the job is also irrelevant - what matters is when permits are issued!

This is the time of year when the building dept.s get swamped w/print review ~ gotta get those permits issued under the old.

Some additional info for NJ EC's:
Permit Extension Act of 2008

There is a 6 month period AFTER NJ state adopts their exceptions etc that you can note on your permit app for inspection per 05 or 08.
