Better for bonding, yes. . Even when not completely tightened, then have alot of surface to surface contact. . Set screw, when not completely tightened, is terrible for bonding.

Not better for bonding. . Compression fittings, even when not completely tightened, have alot of surface to surface contact. . Set screw, when not completely tightened, are much poorer for bonding.

Plus, if you want to go with aesthetics only, I think compression wins by a landslide. . The connectors especially look good over a surface mounted panel . . But it doesn't matter much for couplings that are high off the grade or above a drop ceiling. . Also unlike compression connectors, compression couplings are a pain when you have to keep getting out 2 separate channel locks.

When I was contracting, I stocked compression connectors and set screw couplings for every job. . I also always pulled an equipment grounding conductor in every pipe.
