I may be guilty of asking the same question multiple times over the years. I blame my brain being full

Honestly I really hate this whole thing. How about let me the electrician decide, it's what I do every day

I tried a single sample of overdriving a metal staple onto a piece of 2 wire with ground a while back. I beat the heck out of that staple. No fault. Still have the sample. I'll meg it again to see if it has developed one since.

I had a faketrician help me one day, and he drove the staples almost flush with the lumber.

Every circuit on a basement workshop was dead shorted

We used to use "range staples" back in the 90s
I would put 8 - 14/2 cables in one staple

The "listed ones" I posted a link to have one that says is for four 2 wire cables.

My guess is they don't make one for more than that because as a general rule you would have to apply ampacity adjustments if you had more then that in a "bundle".

I agree, the bundle rule will be what decides this. 4 max if over 24" but less than 24" i would think is kind of endless.
