NMD90 & Spray in polyurethane

I recently encountered a situation where NMD90 had been sprayed with polyurethane insulation. The jacket on the cable is noe very brittle, and cracks when handled too much.

I can't seem to find any relevant code or standards information on this. Has anyone else found this problem?

I just read something about that issue--- if the spray gets on romex and you pull on the jacket it will split. I think someone posted a link to an article on it.
