Yeah, I wasn't clear. Manufacturers are against reuse of refurbished equipment.

If you don't think the UL listing is worth very much, I got nothing.

I don't think it is worth much once the product is put to use or had any opportunity to become compromised in any way. It is not a warranty it is just says the product passes certain testing as is when it leaves the manufacturer. Some of that testing may include conditions it is supposed to be able to withstand, but those conditions are going to be more specific to particular items and will probably be related to their intended use as well.
