You can still have noise currents on the EGC after all improper neutral connections are removed. The noise currents and thus voltage result from the filter circuits external or internal to the load equipment that are grounded to the EGC.
Isolation or to some extent balanced line drivers and receivers are the only solution, and accept the fact that there is a noise voltage on the EGC.
