i have an question about wye transformes. we ran additional circuits in a salon.(120,20a, 1p) aferwards we turned on the blowdrayer and the nuetral had the same amp draw as the hot(13.4a).checked other circuts that had been in placed and they had same. is this due to wye transformer. what else would cause this. thanks.

These grounded conductors are not shared with the other 120 volt leg and thus they return the full load not the unbalanced load that a shared neutral would carry.

by two wire circuits, do u mean 120v. they are 120 circuit. the reading was taken at the nuetral side of the recp.

What you measured is normal, as posted by stars13bars2. The hair dryer is a series load, so all current flowing on the ungrounded conductor (HOT) must return on the grounded conductor (NEUTRAL) back to the transformer.

This does not really have anything to do with the transformer being wye connected or not.
