Bingo!!! There's your problem. Had that 3:00AM issue several years ago and ended up replacing them all with a different mfr.

Truth is it can happen with any brand, but FireX seems to have it by 15x the amount.

I've been using FireX for years with minimal problems. I replace all brands that have problems with them. It's not the brand. I think th3t are equal.

I believe it was BRK but it was so long ago that I don't remember. The only thing I know for sure is that I will no longer use Firex

The thing I remember most of all was the 3:00AM false alarms. It would be a different story and a different issue if it happened at other times.

Can I be honest? Most of my alarms were also during the night. No idea why, best guess was insects getting inside from the LED indicators.

We have used Firex/Kidde almost exclusively for many years and have had very few problems.

If you put the batteries in at 2:00 in the morning, they will die at 2:00 in the afternoon. The problem is you are putting them in at 2 in the afternoon!
