NYC code consultant...

I am a lighting designer in NYC that is in need of a code consultant.
We are working on a steam shower in a brooklyn residence and the ceiling is exactly 8' at the peak, so we are much lower than 8' from the edge of the tub!

As posted previously under a steam shower post, the ceilings are sloped for water run off and as such a down light is not a great solution, not to mention that with the sloped ceilings, the water can run "under" the trim ring of even a wet location downlight.

So we are looking for someone to work with that can help us develop an acceptable solution....

And if anyone can point me to a digital copy of the nyc code, that would be much appreciated! I can buy the book, but find anything in a book would by todays standards take FOREVER!

Any other guidance welcome...

I have done a few steam rooms and the best I have found that we used is a vapor proof light.

Here is the NYC amendments to the 2002 NEC. To find a code section first find it in the 2002 NEC and then look up in the local law 81 document to see if the city code has any amendments. I think that the 2002 NEC can be viewed on the NFPA website.
