Occupancy Sensors, PIR or Ultra Sonic

What's the proper type of occupancy sensor for a school lunch room? It's an open door lunch room, about 6' wide, and I don't want it picking up movement from people outside the lunch room. Only as they enter the room. I know some of them are crazy sensitive, and pick up people from around the corner..

The problem with that, is they are all different. Where as they should be an industry standard.
I haven't seen much difference between name brands like Leviton or P&S. They all have adjustable infrared and ultrasonic sensing out of the box and wire up the same. Wouldn't surprise me if they all come from the same factory.

Masking labels are also included with many sensor products to allow installers or customers to create custom coverage patterns by blocking “masking” a portion of the lens to meet the application requirement.
