i'm looking to permantly connect (moveable) computer desks to a building's electrical system using metal flex conduit.
605.7 refers to partitions. Does that include other furniture such as desks?

That would be a call for the AHJ to make since it is not clearly defined in the NEC. IMO a computer desk is not a wired partition as outlined in Article 605.
