OM (Operating Manual) Product - Book Reviewing

Question for MEP engineers:

Usually at the end of a project, contractor/vendor will submit OM (operating and manual) books for owner's record as requested by typical electrical specification.

It is engineer's task to review these books before returning them back to owner. Any recommendaton which common items we should pay attention when reviewing these books? I usually go with what called on spec. but sometimes these book content go beyond the spec. i.e. product details, parts, control diagrams, etc. and it is hard to understand all of these.
For example, with generator, do we have to check all nuts + piping size??? It's killing me(-:

You could probably use the same equipment that you had submitted on in the shop drawing phase (Main Gear, Generator, ATS, MCC's, panels, fixtures, conduits, connectors & fittings, cables from venders) if there was one. Get a hold of the cad files from engineer and make changes to equipment that was relocated or sized different from bid documents, or you can redline hard copoies then and send back drawings to the engineer and have them do the cad work.
