I have been given the green light to start buying PPE. Who has had good results and with which vendors?

Thank you.

Would a local safety supplier be better than an on-line one?

If you have problems, then you've got a traditional brick-and-mortar place to be able to go to. On-line outfits may have a great price, but it's possible that customer service would totally suck.

The reason for this thread.

I'm not ruling out a local vendor. Just shopping.

Sorry about the broad post. I'm looking for PPE clothing.

Where to buy depends on what you need. What HRC? Daily wear or coverall style? Natural fiber based or do you need chemical resistant or clean room compliance? Does it need to be made in USA? Does it need to be Union Made? Are you buying or leaseing? Who will clean them (Must address this and do it right!!)?

I forgot that the whole northeast sent their workers off for the Holiday.

I also might mention you could look and select products on-line, I'd Buy it all over the phone. I bought a very nice piece of electrical equipment for myself, on-line, all numbers and info left on their secure site.

Thou, I frankly like talking to the order rep. ! besides you can pick up order errors and out of stock issues "Live"

Now, later that day, I was hit with a big nasty virus, that was picked up
by a virus protection. This has never happened before to me but this is about the 5 or 6 electrical product that I've bought on-line.

Just a thought, I can only hope you or your boss are fully shielded !!!

I need to start with daily ware and work up. I see shirts and pants come in different weights and levels of protection.

Natural would be preferable. Chemical and clean room are not issues.

I would like to keep our dollars in the States. Doesn't have to be Union Made.

Maybe both. I see almost everything I've looked at has cleaning instructions to view before you buy.

Chris, your guys have been having to supply their own up until now:-?
No, we have just never had any. I've been working on the owner of our company for a year.

We have been working in a POCO vault around live 480V bussing. I think that showing the guys at work zog's recent arc-flash video swayed him.

Jude, how can you be sure you caught the flu from this transaction?

My software, Kilt it...

I've frankly never been hit with a high security threat and I was just shopping, it made me uneasy to say the least...

I don't know that it was from the transaction, look at it another way, theres all sorts of stuff out there.

They got stuff that will lock you keystrokes into history to where you went when you left, and anything you can think of in-between.

Theres alot of cookies, and tracking cookies that can get picked up visiting sites, some add up as low security threats, others are not.

I'm going to E-mail the host with my observations on Monday, cause there not open till Monday.

Right here.
The three big names have remained Bulwark, Tyndale, and Carrhart. FR clothing is a bit hotter than traditional fabrics, but lasts longer. There are several types of fibers they can be made out of, and some are scratchier than others. The "scratchiness" of the FR materials, as well is discomfort from heat, are my chief complaints. There are FR fabrics out now that are wickable ,so that might suit you better in FL. I have some Carrhart and some Bulwark, and one Tyndale piece. I prefer Bulwark at the moment.
