One conductor in multiple lugs

If the Terminals are not rated for the conductor size, then no good right?

Could a Conductor be "split" to create a size listed in the manufacturers instruction? I don't think it would be OK but maybe.


110.3(B) Installation and Use. Listed or labeled equipment shall be installed and used in accordance with any instructions included in the listing or labeling.

If the terminal is rated for between 14 and 4 copper, and a conductor is installed that is between those two sizes, has the terminal's listing been compromised?

I was thinking, is it a violation of the listing of the conductor, perhaps? :-?
