one way to use a three way switch

I have used a three way for a projection screen. The motor had limet switches on it for stopping when fully up and door closed and a travel stop for length of screen in the down travel. Up on the switch screen went up into it's housing, down on switch it came down.

What is the point of using a switch to control an instihot outlet?

Is the instihot plugged in? and if so what is the switch for?

Common = power
Traveller 1 = Insta-Hot
Traveller 2 = Disposal

It ensures the insta-hot and disposal can't run at the same time.
