Hello all ! I am brand new to this forum , and am happy to have found you. ( ever since FaceBook Killed the Internet I have been looking for specific Forums) ...OK so nuts & Bolts I get it ... Customer complaint ..., " no power to refrigerator Outlet and outlet 3 ft away on same wall structure. " Ok , so Fluke probe , both outlets have Hot Hot wire ... Meter comes out , 110V Hot to Earth Ground , Zero Volts Neutral to Hot , both outlets ... Hmmm ...??? find breaker panel , locate breaker that kills all kitchen outlets , next test all outlets in kitchen with Klein Outlet tester , verify all outlets are correct , Hot, Neutral,Ground ... hmmm... ( while I am scratching my head , I remember the time squirrels were under my house chewing the feed to my Living Room.) Hmmm ... so I ask the customer if he had any problems with squirrels or pack-rats ... he says no ... so I open Breaker Panel , totally Awesome wiring job , whomever did this was a PRO , ... ok Neutral to kitchen is tight , so I start trying to think outside the box and open the wall-switch to the kitchen Ceiling Fan / light fixture and it flickers as I open it , ( I'm thinking , WT% did they wire this to the outlets somehow ...? I tighten screws = solid connection , no relation to said dead neutral outlets. siggghhh ... I had already pulled open all kitchen outlets all test fine , ... now I have seen where some builders run the service up to the lamp location first and branch off of that to the outlets for the entire room , ... but by then I had reached the point of "get the hell out of here before I owe him money point" and of course it was a rural setting miles from the normal cost of travel ... ( figures, right ...? ) ... so the question is should I have gone ahead and dealt with the ceiling fan / lamp location or some other thing I did not think of ... ???
