Article 702 in the NEC addresses this topic and I have a customer who wants me to prepare his single family dwelling unit to accept this new portable 5000w 240v generator. This will be used to supply only specific loads as stipulated in FPN of 702.2. I intend to connect manuallly.
There is a rod electrode present at the dwelling and will be near the portable generator and I intend to use this for gounding the generator.
I have never attempted set up a generator for a customer and am asking you folks for some direction.
Concerned about whether or not manufacturers of load center equipment have a replacement breaker designed specifically to manually maintain isolation in the tripping mechanism between normal power and standby.
Can you assist in some direction for me?
Thank You
