Did anybody ever work with the adorne series undercabs?
The original idea was to get the legrande adorne material but i am concerned the lights wont look so great.
Plus I'm having some trouble sourcing them.
Also its pretty expensive to special order and worry it wont work - what if I have to swap or return [eat] some of this material?

Otherwise, how do you guys fit both standard UC plugmold and standard UC lighting staggered under the cab?
I guess
  • fasten the plugmold UC at the wall corner
  • and extend the romex or mc to a standard UC lighting fixture
    • using a hollowed out wireway to conceal wire traversing the cab
  • so that the UC light is closer to the front of the cabinet
Any other methods, like using some LV LED tape and a hidden jbox?
thanks!

I use standard Wiremold boxes against the back skirt of the cabinets, the shallowest each device will fit.

For lighting, I use adhesive LED ribbon, an inch or two from the front edge, fed by in-wall speaker cable.

do you run 500 series between? that is pretty cool! 💭 no makeup issues in the plugmold...

and the dc driver for the ribbon- up high in the cabinet, or above depending on the cabs?

No, I mount the boxes with the ends, i.e., the short sides to the back, which allows for more instinctive switch operation, and easier-to-remember plug/receptacle orientation.

I try to have only one cable enter each box, which makes it much easier to assemble the boxes and devices, especially with #12. #14 on switches is easier to fit two cables.

I take advantage of the space to the sides for wirenuts, and route the wires so they aren't between the device and the back plate. I bend the wires before installing the box front.

For two-gang boxes with two switches, two receptacles, or one of each, space is much less of an issue. GFCI's usually require a deeper box. If I'm wiring, I put them in wall boxes.

I've installed them in many different places: in cabinets, above cabinets, under the sink, in a crawl space, in an unfinished basement ceiling. I even one inside a hollow wall shelf.

For both power and lighting, I drill through the back skirt and fish, if remodel. I have found contact cement to be a handy adhesive for LV wire and un-sticky ribbon sections.
