Why is that a "Gotcha"? Don't you specify what seets the bid is for?

You made me laugh... That CYA note on your proposal which may say something to the effect that you only bid the e-sheets, does not really do what you think it should. For one thing you can?t even begin to write an exclusion for everything, construction is not a science, and secondly commercial contracts tie you to ALL the construction documents, AKA contract documents including all A, M, P, SE, FP, FA C, S, and L drawings.

If you were to go to a big prime contractor and to make your proposal and tell him you only have the E-sheets covered they would wonder what you did not cover and who was going to take care of it for them. If you are not professional and competent enough to know the electrical scope in it?s entirety, even if it is shown on the plumping pages then they will either find someone who is, or prepare a contract just for you and sneek it in the back door to make you do it anyway.

I prepare detailed scope letters, attend pre-bids, and spend hours going over details with prime estimators just to make sure I got it all covered and they know to ask if the other guys do too, and all of that means nothing when its contract time because big prime contractors want a turn key deal and if they hand you the contract you can bet they have it covered under your scope.

Many a job has been sold by the guy who did not pick it all up on bid day but said he did at contract time.
