i believe thats 392.3 (Per the OP’s 2008 request)I come up with art.392.10. Cable trays shall be permitted to be used as a support for service conductors, feeders, branch circuits, communication circuits control and signal circuits. I don't see boxes as being supported by the tray but I will defer to others.
Oh and please don't use all caps.
What does this mean:For boxes and conduit bodies attached to the bottom or side of a cable tray system, fastening and supporting shall be in accordance with the requirements of 314.23i agree but it doesnt say that a box can be supported to cable tray.
sorry for caps. before
Thank you --- I was using the 2011 and assumed it was the same even though it had the line in the margin. :dunce:i believe thats 392.3 (Per the OP?s 2008 request)
Then the permissible part doesn?t apply to you.but 392.6{j} is for industrial facilities.
my installation is in an office buliding for an IT room
Note: That is what I posted, and said. Are you talking to yourself:lol:392.6 {j} seems to be the only referance to mounting outlet boxes to a cable tray.
but only in industrial facilities.
so i would say no you cant unless the AHJ tells me other wise.
