OUTLET BOXES SUPPOTRTED TO CABLE 2008 NEC

WE ARE DOING AND IT ROOM WE INDEPENDLEY SUPPORTED THE OUTLET BOXES AND NOT SUPPORTED THEM TO THE CABLE TRAY. THE DOES CODE PERMITT BOXES TO BE SUPPORTED TO CABLE TRAY

I come up with art.392.10. Cable trays shall be permitted to be used as a support for service conductors, feeders, branch circuits, communication circuits control and signal circuits. I don't see boxes as being supported by the tray but I will defer to others.

What does this mean:For boxes and conduit bodies attached to the bottom or side of a cable tray system, fastening and supporting shall be in accordance with the requirements of 314.23

Then the permissible part doesn?t apply to you. . So, no you can?t attach it per code. This applies to industrial non-commercial>>>unless your jurisdiction says otherwise.
