The harder one looks the more uncertain the position.

It is common sense that the ground connection faces towards the ground. Otherwise it would be called a sky connection ;)

Ronald: I think you lefty?s might be onto something here. If that four-plex has breakaway tabs, you could wire up a special assembly, labeling each receptacle: Dedicated circuit; General lighting circuit; AFCI protected; Non-AFCI protected. Such a device along with a plug-equipped smoke detector might go along way to satisfying that controversy. :cool:
