Hi All,

Architect is showing curtain wall with top being glass and bottom portion spandrel panel, glazed. Not sure how this thing is build, but if receptacles are needed, will there be space to flush mount the receptacles for such installation? Or floor receptacles will be used.

If this doesn't apply to a form of dwelling, then no receptacle would be required. Spandrel panels are usually installed to hide unsightly columns or framing where they want to give the impression of solid glass fronts. If the architect is adamant about having receptacles on these walls, floor receptacles are the best option. There was a thread about something similar to this in this forum several years ago.

Along with Ricks post. If the architect is adamant about having a receptacle and does not want a floor outlet he should come up with a design for hiding the wiring, he is the aesthetics expert, the electrical designer isn't.

Spandrels are usually only a skin over the structure no different than siding on a house. The interior finishes and framing members would "house" any electrical installations. If this is a commercial space the requirements for receptacle placement is different than residential and may not "need" a receptacle in front of the window space that may extend ceiling to floor.
